Gookin’s Trends Week Five

MTSU and Western Kentucky have gone over the point total in 5-straight games in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Tulsa has hit the 1H over in 3 of their last 5 home games, while Temple has hit the 1H over in 3 of their last 5 away games. Tulsa has also trailed at the end of the 1st quarter in 11 of their last 12 games. Temple is plus-money in a 1Q ML.

BYU and Cincinnati have both hit the 1H over total in 8 of their last 12 games. However, Cincinnati hasn’t hit a full game over this season, going 0-4.

Northwestern has hit their team total under in 4 of their last 5 games. Their total is 8.5 against a Penn State team that held Iowa to 0 points last week.

USC and Colorado have gone 4-1-1 on the over in their last 6 games in Colorado.

Michigan and Nebraska have consistently hit the under in the first half over the past year. Nebraska has hit the 1H under in 9 of its last 12 games, while Michigan has done it in 10 of their last 14.

In Baylor and UCF’s only matchup in the past two decades (2014), the teams combined for 94 total points.

Kansas and Texas have hit the over in 3-straight games, with the winning team scoring at least 50 points in each game. Texas’ team total is at 38.5, while Kansas sits at 21.5.

Indiana and Maryland have hit the over in 7 of their last 8 matchups. However, both teams have trended toward first half unders, with Indiana hitting the 1H under in 7 of their last 11 games and Maryland hitting in 8 of their last 11.

After a solid year of hitting the over (8-5) last season, Purdue has slowed down considerably. The Boilermakers have failed to hit their team total in 4 of their last 5 games. Their total is set at 27.5 against Illinois.

After a run of 5-straight ATS wins for Iowa State in 2020, the Cyclones have been blanked since their Big 12 Championship game appearance against the Sooners, going 0-3 ATS since. The teams have also hit the under in all 3 games, with the Cyclones continuing to trend toward the under having gone under the total in 10 of their last 12 games.

Iowa and Michigan State are also on an incredible run of unders, with the Hawkeyes hitting the under in 9 of their last 13 games, and Michigan State hitting 4-straight unders on the road. However, the two teams have actually hit the over in each of their last 3 matchups in Iowa City.

Washington and Arizona have been great at scoring recently, with the Wildcats hitting their team total over in 4 of their last 5 games and the Huskies hitting their team total over in 3-straight road games,
